‘Swirling Smoke’ is the newest release from Another Sky. It’s an interesting track that blends emotive lyrics with a gentle electronic loop that wanders from its restrained and distant opening, to a swirling and enormous climax, topped by instantly memorable vocals. It’s a true sonic journey. On the unique backstory to this track, Catrin Vincent explains: “As a teen, I used to go to this club called ‘The Colly’ to sit on this abandoned staircase and just scream. The music was so loud that nobody could hear me. I didn’t feel able to express frustration in real life, so it felt like the only place I could let it out without hurting someone else.” The track’s accompanying video captures this uncanny atmosphere beautifully. ‘Swirling Smoke’ is the final track to be taken from Another Sky’s incredible upcoming album, Beach Day, which drops on March 1st, 2024, via Fiction Records. -Dan Peeke
